Fees and Scheduling

My practice is currently full, and I am unable to welcome new patients as their primary therapist.  If you are interested in a consultation, adjunctive treatment, or supervision, please contact me so that we may discuss my availability.

My fee for all services is $325.00 per 50-minute session, and I work from Monday through Friday by appointment.  I do not work directly with insurance companies.

Unless otherwise agreed upon, I bill monthly, and my patients pay me directly.  The statements I provide have historically provided all the clinical information patients have needed to receive reimbursement from their Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and/or from their insurer when they have out-of-network (OON) benefits.  If employers or insurers require additional information from me to process reimbursements, I do my best to accommodate their needs.  My fee is subject to change upon notice.

If you’d like to find out the rate at which your insurance company will reimburse you for treatment with me, call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card, and give them my National Provider Identification (NPI) number: 1831316918. With that number, they will be able to identify me, and should be able to tell you the rate at which they will cover therapy with me.  If the representative responds "he is not an in-network provider", respond with "OK, so how much of the visit will you cover?”  I have unfortunately found that insurance companies don't always volunteer when one of their subscribers have out-of-network benefits.  If the representative indicates that they will cover a percentage of the service (70% of the service, or some other fraction), this is not terribly helpful information.  What they are telling you is that they will cover 70% of something called their "reasonable and customary" rate.  For example, they could set $200 per 50-minute session, as their reasonable and customary rate.  They would, under that scenario, reimburse $140 for a session.  Your out-of-pocket fee would therefore be $185 per session (based on a $325 session fee).

My Location

My office is on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Western Avenue in Cambridge’s Central Square.  The front door of my building is adjacent to an exit of the Red Line Central Square subway stop.  At that Mass. Ave. intersection, Prospect Street turns in to River Street, Western Avenue, and Magazine Streets. My office is located at 678 Mass. Ave. It is a 10 story 1920s office building (there is another tall building on the opposite corner).  The entrance to the building abuts a grocery store and HR Block is on the first floor. Take the elevator to the 8th floor.  Turn right when you exit the elevator. There are only two suites on the 8th floor -- the other is an architect's office. When you have a scheduled appointment, make yourself comfortable in the waiting room and I'll meet you there.
